Emergency Management Overview is an introductory course in emergency management and the NSW State Emergency and Rescue Management Act 1989. It is the mandatory prerequisite and pathway into the Introduction to Emergency Management (Intro EM) class based course.
Welfare Services Functional Area Overview outlines the roles of the Welfare Services Functional Area and its participating and supporting agencies, the role of an evacuation centre, and the principles of Psychological First Aid.
Foundations in Lessons Management is recommended for stakeholders involved in emergency management. It covers topics on knowledge management, lessons management concepts, definitions and lessons management processes.
Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) foundation course is recommended for all members who sit on the Local Emergency Management committee. It covers topics on the NSW emergency management arrangements, the LEMC member roles and responsibilities and the functions of the LEMC.
This module is useful as an induction to emergency risk management in NSW; as a refresher for people already employed in the sector; or, as background information for people who will be required to participate in an emergency risk management process.
