  • Determine and establish control structures that are appropriate to the changing needs of the situation
  • Identify and formulate effective information management practices to ensure key messages are conveyed in a timely, targeted and effective manner
  • Identify and develop activities to effectively fulfil area management requirements
  • Determine priorities and develop plans for situation management in an emergency
  • Determine how to manage resources including financial resources in a complex multi-agency environment
  • Develop ways to seamlessly manage the transition to recovery
  • Conduct and complete an after action operation review /debrief and documents
  • Interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies, process and procedures used in the management of an emergency operation
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of various players in managing an emergency operation
  • Apply and demonstrate effective decision-making in managing emergencies
