- Identify appropriate methods of conducting an all hazards, risk and vulnerability analysis for the organisation/community
- Identify and implement appropriate prevention/mitigation, preparedness, response and/or recovery strategies
- Explain and use a multi-agency approach to distinguish between the roles and responsibilities of key agencies/organisations at different stages of the comprehensive approach
- Outline implications of emergency management requirements for organisational planning, policies, procedures, systems and resource allocation
- Describe strategies for building disaster resilience within the community
- Examine emergency management plans and how these practically apply at a local level
- Identify strategies to prepare and engage stakeholders/organisations and communities
- Practical appreciation of the various roles they play in emergency management
